My hip replacement surgery.

First of all I'd like to say that it's been a huge privilege have had the opportunity of working with Fiona during my PhD. Particularly, as a PhD student in the Tommy's Metabolic Clinic, she supported me and my research, and I'm really grateful, for trusting and letting me work with her patients.

I'm also greatly thankful for the support Fiona gave me the day of my hip replacement surgery, back on 2016. I was studying and living on my own in Edinburgh, no one of my family could make it to travel from Chile to be with me that day. Though, the day of the surgery I felt lonely and scared, it was my first surgery. However, coincidentally, Fiona's Dad was having the same surgery the same day, so Fiona was there, in the waiting room, with her parents, since 7:30am, and I believe she realised I needed support, so she helped me feeling much more comfortable just by introducing me to o her parents, so we chatted, and forgot for a while about my fear. I'll never forget that day and what she did for me. I really needed some support, just hope she understood how important her gesture was for me.

From Santiago, Chile, I send my condolences to all those who love Fiona, specially her parents who I had the chance to know. All of you and Fiona will always be in my prayers. I'm sure she's now resting in peace,

Caterina Fazzi.
