Talented flautist and lovely friend

Fiona and I met once a year for the Royal Infirmary Christmas Carol Concert. The summons went out with about a week to go and a motley collection of musicians assembled in the Sanctuary each year just before Christmas to play traditional carols. Fiona was "First Flute" and took any complicated bits and I backed her up as "Second Flute". Quite often she would rush in at the last minute, still in scrubs, having just delivered a baby in theatre. I will remember her as kind, talented, full of good humour and simply a lovely person. I don't know whether there will be concerts again at Christmas, but the world has lost a bright star whose talents extended across so many domains. With love to all her colleagues and family. xxx
